I won't tell you the reason "why" but my dd earned the right to take her teachers homemade chocolate chip cookies. Now, I'm a working mom and while my kids get treats throughout the year, we don't do a lot of baking except for birthdays and holidays. I'm a big believer in letting them help me and eat the batter. But, there just isn't a lot of time. Since this was a pretty special occasion, I pulled out the "Santa" cookie recipe and away we went. Of course, the packaging needed to be perfect so apparently I turned into Martha Stewart, ha! They did turn out cute though! Yea for the cricut and lots of cute paper!
enjoy!

Happy 40th!
(the lighting is terrible! so sorry!) My dh recently celebrated his 40th birthday. I made a cute (um, manly) gatefold card. I stamped the Happy Birthday and "it's just a.." from a PTI stamp set. I used True Black PTI cs, some paper I picked up a couple of months ago and it all came together so great!

butterfly thank yous
This card is a CASE of a Nichole Heady card (who is the creative "creator" behind PTI). I used cricut for the image panel, an SU butterfly, embossed the polka dots on the butterfly and stickles for the wings. PTI Kraft and Lemon Tart cardstock and LT ribbon. PTI Polka Dot Basics II stamp set is how I created the background.

Out with Old and In with the New
Just as I finished up my ds's Kindergarten class pic, it was time to make his 1st day of school card for his First Grade Teacher. I made it in the shape of a file folder using my cricut and a cut file from Okie. I sued PTI: School Time and STAdditions. Plus, that apple on the front has been in my possesion now for 10 years! Crazy. I also used the spiral notebook die and stamped it to look like a regular sheet of paper. On his K layout I made his backpack more 3D and used one of the school pics of him to put more of the focus on him. The "all I ever needed..." comes from CTMH School Zone.

Plum Pudding goodness
I can't remember where I got the idea for this card, but I always try to create a super classy card for my stepmother's birthday each year. It needs to meet certain criteria for me. I might make 3 or 4 before I make the card I'm going to send her. What was so fantastic about this card was how easy it came together. PTI Plum Pudding and Stamper's Select White. Cuttlebugged the large white panel. Then, I used PTI's Simply Stationary stamp set for the sentiment/image circle panel. Finally, I used a CTMH Say It in Style sentiment in the center with PTI PP ink. On the inside I used the individual image that matches the circle image for the four corners (that's why I LOVE PTI) and a PTI Signature Greeting sentiment. As one more "extra", I put those same images on the envie... FUN!

You Rock Girl
Isn't this an awesome card?? I don't have the Hanna Montana cart, but I do have a cart with a guitar and several with flourishes, so I decided to make my own inspired HM "you rock" card. The paper is dsp from SU that I got for Jake's valentine's gifts last year and I have a ton leftover... time to make use of some fab paper!! The sentiment is PTI, the panel is another cricut image. I used some inexpensive rhinestones I got from Michael's and of course, stickles on the flourish.
This was an extra special card. My niece turned 15. You can read about her here. There is a second surgery planned so please be praying!

The perfect sketch
(sorry if the lighting is bad) I made this card for a friend's birthday in July. This is my favorite sketch. I use it time and again for birthdays, thank yous, whatever. I can change the sentiment panel to be any shape. It is simply the perfect sketch in my opinion. PTI cardstock, dp to match, SU sentiment stamp, and CTMH ink.
Enjoy!

Christmas magic
I've never worked so long on a scrapbook layout in my life!! This was a solid two-day effort! I had inspiration from both Tammy and Monique from Everyday Cricut. The papers are awesome (Pink Paisley) and more cricut'ing than I've done on a layout in a LONG time. And, then I stamped, and I stickled, and I chipboard'ed, and I embellished galore!! But, when I was done I had to admit it was one of my most favorite spreads ever. Cartridges were: Christmas Cheer, Christmas Noel Solutions, Winter Wonderland, Snow Friends, and Storybook. In the title, I actually used chipboard for "magic" to give it more dimension. I inked (chocolate CTMH ink) just about every part of the page except the snowflakes and snowgirl. The window from Noel shows Emma looking through it (looking really cold!!) and I used Glossy Accents to make it look like real glass panes. (tip: Use clear & blue stickles for snow/ice!) I used Storybook to create a little book (lower left corner on the right page) to hold extra pictures. By cutting through the plastic sleeve of the page protector we can look through the book anytime without removing the entire layout. Also, it is a really thick book because of embellies so I used a big brad to hold the pages together (and mostly closed).
The other products are PTI Hibiscus Burst, Dark Chocolate, and Rustic Cream cardstock as well as the PTI stamp set Silent Night, and Summer Sunrise ink and cardstock for the star.
Hope you like it!

October Afternoon in August
Isn't this sooo cute?? It's October Afternoon all the way (except for the ink and cardstock which is PTI). I picked this up in a great LSS on the way back from our vacay in June. Got 1 sheet from 3 different lines and they are super cute and "country-feelin'"... not my typical stamping style. I also have a "boy" version stamp set that compliments the little girl set. SOOO cute!

Balloon buttons
Isn't this too cute?? So sorry but I love the buttons as balloons from PTI's Everyday Button bits!! The color combo of Lavendar Moon, Plum pudding, and Spring Moss feels fresh even though this is an old layout (either Monday Mojo or SCS from '08). Also, in dark cardstock cards I really enjoy putting another strip of the printed paper on the inside to tie the entire card together.
I'll warn you though, the buttons make it so heavy that it is hard to stand up!!
Enjoy!

(p.s. It's my dh birthday today but I've not uploaded the pic of his card off my camera to the computer yet!)

Cherry Birthday Cards!
Close to My Heart introduced the most WONDERFUL cherry paper this summer and I had to have some!! As soon as I got my hands on it I immediately made these 2 cards for 2 great ladies having birthdays this summer: my birthday gal pal Michelle in Ohio (HI and Happy Birthday to us!!) and my mother-in-law (we're still working on that internet in small-town OK!). Anyway, gotta love cricut for all tag-type needs, and some lucious stickles for the cherries on the bottom card.
Enjoy!
