The lighting is bad again... hmmm. This was an experiment that worked- got to love it! Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate, and Pure Poppy colors (vintage cream as a base) work really well together. I used Lacy Labels cricut cart for the image panel and embossed the front of the card.
Enjoy!

PTI blog hop
This morning I am participating in the PTI blog hop for the very first time! I made this card very late last night but am so happy with it. We were challenged (this is my interpretation) to show off something we learned or that was inspired by a fellow stamper. There are two fabulous inspirations here: Nichole Heady (the creative and most visible "leader" of PTI- there are 3 of them) and Lauren Meader (who inspires a lot of stampers!). I wouldn't be showing a card nearly this good if it weren't for reading Nichole's blog over the last *almost* 3 years. (I also wouldn't have supplies or stamps that had this kind of quality either!). She has a style that is probably most like my own- clean and simple but always striving for the classic and elegant. But the inspiration is the Ripe Avocado panel. I used 2 flourishes: 1 from Silent Night and 1 from Fall Elegance. I rarely make my own background papers (except using Polka Dot Basics II) but Nichole does it all the time and makes it look effortless! So, I was determined to do so. I broked out the versamark ink and "went to town" so to speak. (Even my dh, who is well practiced at oohhhing and aaahhing was impressed when I explained that I "made" that paper!). I stamped the first part of the "Silent Night..." sentiment at the upper top of the card and finished it on the inside. (the image panel is die cut from the cricut)
Lauren's inspiration is two-part. First, the sketch is hers. I found it about 6-8 weeks or so ago on her blog and have been making cards out of it ever since. (I also have my most favorite sketch that is from her too... so she is VERY inspiring in my own cardmaking world). Also, if it wasn't for her blog (and Mishie's), I'd NEVER have found Nichole's blog in the first place. And that, well... it would have been tragic! Ha!

Sympathy in Subtle colors
I'm having to create a lot of sympathy cards lately. It's terribly sad. A friend of ours lost his mom to cancer. He's so young and I know she was too. Simple card but heartfelt. All PTI (except the ribbon): Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow cardstocks and inks (except for the trees- CTMH white daisy). PTI Stamp Set Through the Trees.

2 Cards 4 U 2Day
Here's my favorite sketch again, turned upside down! I also scored the pink cs in the bottom one and cuttlebugged the brown cs in the top one. Matching dsp's to match, bling in the top card (click to get a better look), cricut cuts for the panels, PTI stamp for the sentiment on top and SU sentiment on bottom. The only thing wrong is that pink bow: I love it so much I don't know how I'll put it in an envie to mail to anyone!

"Small is the new Big" (says Tinkerbell)
Well, I finally caved and bought the Tinkerbell cricut cartridge. Walmart's are either not going to carry cricut products at all (like all the ones near me!!), or are going to carry the new Cricut Lite cartridges. So, all Walmarts are trying to get rid of their stock. I picked up the Tink cart for $20. That is such a great deal! Since my daughter STILL thinks Tink rules, I figure I'll get a few good uses out of it before it sits on my shelf unloved (and then sold??).
Anyway, I made this for an AWESOME girl who turned 6 in July. Can't believe my best friend's youngest is now 6. We are getting old! Ha! The image cut perfectly (except the eyes were so difficult to figure out!). Used a bit of leftover Tink paper from another layout for my daughter and the card was perfect!
Enjoy!

Bright & Beautiful... fish?
This was to represent Emma's first fishing experience. Hard to balance "girly" with, well, "scaly fish"... but hopefully it looks okay. Lots of pinks with a denim colored light blue and white as the focal color. The flowers and title are from the Tink cartridge. I put stickles on the paper doll girl trying to make her look girly enough!
Enjoy!

Chickadee card
I wanted to make my good friend and business partner a fun card (plus I'd gotten my hands on a new *to me* embossing folder). I pulled out PTI's Mat Stack 3 and Everyday Button Bits stamp set. A little Sweet Blush cs and Plum Pudding cs coordinated so well with this (I think) Basic Grey pp.
Just a fun card for a great friend!

Lots of happy's birthday
This is another CASE of a Nichole Heady card. I mass produced these for a reason. They turned out better than I could have expected. I used a stamp set I got a JoAnn's years ago for about $5 (the script "happy" came from a CTMH Easter stamp set). I used CTMH inks and a CM pen to outline and make everything stand out.

Pusing the boundaries
I used one of the PTI Design Team cards as my inspiration. This is VERY different from my usual style, outside of my comfort zone, but my dh and good friend really liked it! I'm trying to push myself to try different things on purpose. This is October Afternoon paper, CTMH flower, PTI ink, ribbon, and cardstock, and cricut for the scallop.
enjoy!

New Sketch: In Color
So, I saw this sketch (really a card, but I knew what the sketch would look like) on Lauren Meador's blog. Hmmm, I like it. So, I decided to pull out some supplies and see what I could come up with. This is mostly SU In Color stuff (sorry, I don't know all the names). I know it's Blushing Bride (pink) and Poppy Parade (red). The dsp is Garden Party (maybe??) and then I tied a pretty pink bow in front and used Bella Baubles on the top left. The panel is a cricut cut.
Enjoy!
