out from under the rock :)

Hey there! I really haven't meant to be hiding under a rock... it just sorta happened that way. The first weekend after school started for my son, my husband and I spent the entire weekend painting and moving JetMax cubes into my "new" craft room. It is actually going to be a craft room for my kids and I. They *love* to craft with me and I love it too. So, I now can truly spread out and have "stations" : stamping/assembling (main work area), cutting/diecutting/cricut, laptop, mini-books, and sewing. Finally, one of the only things we purchased was a 5 ft. (foldable) table that is in the center of the table for the kids. They can sit there and leave their crafts out- or I can sit with them if we are doing a project together (instead of on the floor which is what happened in the past!). OR, if I have a BIG project or girlfriends over, most all of that can MOVE and everyone can have their OWN spot!! So, we just need to finish up the walls and I'll post pictures. WELL.... that was a LONG intro into those 2 cards (sorry!!). Do you remember SAFaire weekend? Nichole posted lots of challenges. Well, these were cards I made (the top was close to a CASE of Pine's card- #3) for the challenges. The bottom ended up being my dh's birthday card and it was for #6 with the notches/twine.

Enjoy!

  1. Two great cards. Love how you have used die cuts as windows and also layers. Your new room sounds great. It's nice to have a place where you can do your own thing and the kids can play along, too.

  2. Nice cards. The card for your husband is simple, but so masculine. A perfect guy card. Hope you will post pictures of your room for us to see.

  3. Great cards, Kristin! I love how you used the twine!
Your new space sounds awesome! I have a table in my basement and set up anther die cutting station. Some friends came over in July for SAF and my husband helped me set up a 4x8' table for us to craft at. Well, my regular table has become my cutting/sewing station and I've been scrapping at the big table ever since. My husband keeps suggesting we put it away, but I really like it! It's so much easier for friends to join me and it's great for my daughter to craft with me, too.

    And talk about a rock...
but my excuse is paint! :)
Hoping to climb out this week and have this room finished...
and then I get to rearrange my "crafty" space!
Love that you have space for the kiddies too...
mine like to come in with me...
and once I finish rearranging everything...
hopefully will have more space for them to do so!

  7. Wonderful cards. The spotty one is my fave. Love the composition. How exciting about your craftroom. Totally cool. Love the concept of a family space. Afterall, a family that craft together, stays together. So fab!
