Mom's present part II

These are the other 2 cards I made my mom. I used blue cs I've had for awhile, DCWV pp from blossoms and butterflies. I paper pieced the Verve butterfly after double stamping it and in the bottom card I also used the Swiss Dots folder for extra texture.

Enjoy!

New Things...

Last month a couple in our church was called to go to another church. He was to be the music minister. We were all excited for them, but of course, sad for us.

I wanted to make a simple card for them (and then forgot it at home, so had to mail it!)... never fails.

This is mostly CTMH paper- called Emporium (*thanks Melissa!!*), with a Verve butterfly I paper pieced. I kept trying to make this fit a sketch, but never could. It's a smaller size (b/c of how I kept changing things), so it's a narrow rectangle. I used cocoa cs that I ran through the cuttlebug (but I don't think you could even tell once I put all the pp on it!)...

What do you think??

Enjoy!

Mojo 77 Monday Sketch

This was Mojo 77 Monday sketch. I used the Verve butterfly stamp. I stamped it first onto CTMH sweet pea paper in Breeze. Then, again in Breeze on white cs. I cut out the inside of butterfly and paper pieced onto the cs. I sponged some darker green and blue (garden green and indian corn blue?) ink and cut out the image. I cut out another circle of PTI Sweet Blush and then a scallop of the Sweet Pea pp. I inked the square pp panel with breeze, another pp (green polka dots) sweet pea pp rectangular panel wan adhered to PTI Sweet Blush cs base. Two bella baubles and 1 little flower gem I've had forever (that I got from who knows where?? none scrap, stamp related) and done!

This was sent out as a sweet thank you card!

enjoy!

p.s. Check your stash and send out a card today- it's a GOOD idea!

Mojo 71 sketch

I finally got a chance to play after putting the kids to bed on our "go home early with wet roads day" (haha- no ice around here!).
The sketch is the Verve Mojo Monday 71. I hadn't played since the beginning of the months, so it was fun...
I wanted something pretty and springy... this comes close don't you think??
I used this paper from HL (used in Emma's 2nd bday lo), with Verve stamp and Doodlebug sentiment and small butterfly stamp. I double stamped the butterfly in CTMH Hollyhock (cut out the inside) and Garden Green. Nesties for the square scallop and embossed panel.
Cute sketch!
Enjoy!

Verve sketch #2

Here is the other sketch challenge card I did about 10 days or so ago (man, I've had lots of posts lately!).

I don't have a punch or label dies to make the image panel and mat. I just measured and cut off the same amount on both papers to create the look (what do you think??).

I stamped the image in CTMH Holiday Red and the sentiment in black. I needed red brads, didn't have them, so I "made" them with red stickles.

The pp is scraps I've had leftover for about 2 years (a lo I did for Jake's book) and because I recently organized my scraps I found them!

Enjoy!

Verve sketch card 1

I really liked how this card came out. It was a Verve sketch challenge from last week (before their new products came out). I pulled out a piece of CTMH textured Crystal Blue cs for the base. Then, I used Emporium paper (from their newest book). The stamp came from the CTMH set "With Love". I stamped it in Sweet Leaf, then stamped 2 small flowers in Buttercup, cut out and glued on, and finally stamped the little dots in Cocoa. I cut it out and matted it on the same cs. Had to stamp "Happy Everything" of course! lol!

Finally, those are some Bella baubles in "popcorn" that I picked up ages ago... they were perfect!

Enjoy!

Verve color card

This is the care I made for the Verve Color challenge last week. I made all my cards up in a few hours of playtime over the course of the week. I had to use CTMH colors instead of SU colors, and I used an SCS sketch (that I can't find the # too... sorry). I did Swiss Dots on the background panel, and lots of distressing (again!)

Enjoy!

Sketch example #2

I loved the SCS200 sketch so much (look at the card from this post) that I wanted to make a 2nd one. I had to flip the sketch b/c of an accident- but if I'd not told you, would you know??
Now, the story behind the paper and stamp... a couple of weeks ago my business partner and I had a seminar in GA. There were 300 of us that they split into teams to play the Amazing Race. Our team came in 2nd!!
We won a $25 gift card, so I spent mine on..... just 1 guess
Papercrafting!!
I got Papertrey Ink (PTI) Lemon Tart cs (love their cs!!) and my very first Verve stamps. I'd heard so much about them, and love that butterfly image, AND it was 10% off in October- so I got it!
So, the card is Lemon Tart, the blue is DCWV Summer Stack cs, green random pp, the 2 butterfly images- stamped in CTMH Buttercup and Citrus Leaf. I used CTMH Indian Corn Blue organdy ribbon b/c it matched the blue so well.
I didn't stamp a sentiment yet b/c I am not sure who will get it yet...
Enjoy!
