Updated SCS201

Earlier this week I showed a sketch (scs201). I wasn't happy with the image panel (wasn't what I had in mind), so I took it off and redid it. This would be cute for a baby shower card for a mom carrying a little girl. Funny, I know one of those! lol.

SCS 202

The other night (pretty late) I wanted to try the sketch for this week's SCS challenge. I now love using scraps, and I have used my doodlebug scraps for a few things. The base is Bazzill, the stamp image and sentiment is CTMH School Zone. The coloring is CTMH markers and copics. This was super simple and fast... I figure it'll be cute for Emma's teacher next year at the beginning of the year.

Birthday Boys & Girl

Saturday afternoon we had 2, count 'em 2, birthday parties to attend. Normally, I am a 1 birthday party a weekend kind a gal, but I am such good friends with both moms, and the kids always enjoy them, so we went...

The first party was for the brother of the sister's party from last week. Turned 5, same age as Jake. Second party was for a brother and sister, turning 3 and 5: Princess & Knight...

Here are the cards I did... all cricut and CDS (castle from Capedia again), PDDU cartridge (love it!). Some coloring, stickles, and stamping and voila! Great cards!

So, it's Tuesday night as I write this and I was going to read some of my SCS #3 blogs (howdy girls!), and thought I'd start at the bottom of the alphabet and work up (I have been starting at the top... lotsa love there, little by the end).

But, on my Feed list I started at Tori Wild's blog. Have you found her yet??

happy... Pumpkins & Halloween

Morning all!

I recently completed Emma's layout for the pumpkin patch, carving, and Halloween fun. I used Storyteller's club pack (I got this when I attended their class at the GASC in Arlington in June). They have great cs quality, and some thin chipboard diecuts and thicker chipboard accents that you can alter. Their more expensive pack even includes ribbons and brads w/ additional cs.

I don't have circle nesties, or circle punches... just the good old reliable CM circle cutters and mat. I have never been able to make myself spend $$ on the punches, or even the circle nesties for that matter (especially now with the cricut!).

I love to journal, but sometimes like the clean look with title, pics, and embellies. So, hidden journalling to the rescue! Here, I made what looks like a file folder and tucked it under the pic of them dressed for Halloween. I used post-bound albums, so once I insert the lo, I use my craft knife to cut out an area for people to remove the journalling to read (and to save the page from being taking in and out of the album).

SCS Sketch 201

So, my Saturday kinda got crazy... I had not stamped ALL WEEK (since Monday when I got to stamp in peace and quiet all day, but shhh... it doesn't count!). Life just has a habit of getting in my way (hehe). So, Saturday we were having an unexpected visit from Terry's parents, but I really needed to clean up and reorganize my stamping/scrapping area. I am one of those that needs it to be clean before I make it dirty again.

I got all that done, realized I had about 30 minutes before they were to arrive, and thought to myself... I will try to start this card really quick. Well, I actually finished it!! (yea for a clean space!) This is the SCS sketch 201

Because I did a traditional A2 card, these are more rectangular than square, but that's okay!

Unfortunately, I am not happy with it at all... but, I have already figured out what I am going to do to change it.

So, as inspiration to ya'll to show a card you aren't totally happy with, I will show it here. Since I know what I am going to do... I can tell you the image panel is coming off and something totally different will be there. Once that is done and the card is given, I'll try to remember to repost!

Sketch example #2

I loved the SCS200 sketch so much (look at the card from this post) that I wanted to make a 2nd one. I had to flip the sketch b/c of an accident- but if I'd not told you, would you know??

Now, the story behind the paper and stamp... a couple of weeks ago my business partner and I had a seminar in GA. There were 300 of us that they split into teams to play the Amazing Race. Our team came in 2nd!!

We won a $25 gift card, so I spent mine on..... just 1 guess

Papercrafting!!

I got Papertrey Ink (PTI) Lemon Tart cs (love their cs!!) and my very first Verve stamps. I'd heard so much about them, and love that butterfly image, AND it was 10% off in October- so I got it!

So, the card is Lemon Tart, the blue is DCWV Summer Stack cs, green random pp, the 2 butterfly images- stamped in CTMH Buttercup and Citrus Leaf. I used CTMH Indian Corn Blue organdy ribbon b/c it matched the blue so well.

I didn't stamp a sentiment yet b/c I am not sure who will get it yet...
