His Holy Name Challenge #2

This challenge came out on January 18th and I just now got around to doing it! Life has been crazy.

His Holy Name

This challenge was God is Sovereign- meaning He IS. There is nothing greater than Him.

I used the verse from Isaiah 25:8 to illustrate my tag:
“The sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth.”

I used the colors Black & White on purpose. God is either sovereign, or He isn't God. Clear cut. Simple.

But, God loves his children... think about the act of a "dad" wiping away the tears on His son or daughter's face. Total gentleness. Love, concern, and caring is there. As God, He can do ANYTHING or not... but here, Isaish talks about how He CHOOSES to wipe away our tears.

Jake is 5 layout

Fancy title huh?? I completed Jake's 5th birthday layout recently and finally got the pics uploaded. I used a Story Tellers kit from the free ones I got last year. I added my own cs to mat the photos, and distressing inks around the edges.

I tried to really showcase the photos to tell the story of that day.

Sometimes, less IS more! :-)

Glass etching

So, one of the things you need to do when you start your own private practice is get referrals from physicians. However, you have to get and KEEP their attention. We came up with an idea to let them display a pretty bowl at the nurse's station, and refill it with cards and disposable hearing protection. This had to be cheap... so I found the bowls on clearance at Target- $2 each!

First, I created our logo on DS software and Base Camp. Then, I cut the papers and ran them through my Xyron with laminate/repositionable adhesive. Next, I cut out the stencil on the cricut. Put it on the glass and used the glass etching material. Let sit for 20 minutes, wash off, let dry. Tada!

Thank you cards

After my grandmother's funeral, my mom wanted to make some thank you cards. I did a variety for her. I used Okie's ticket punch cut file for the cricut (love her!), threading water for the border of one card, scored lines for an elegant finish, and used YELLOW bella baubles that I colored blue with my copic marker, then with a glue dot adhered more blue paper to the back of it before gluing to the paper. I embossed all the thank yous- stamped in CTMH daisy white, then white embossing powder.
