Emma Christmas LO

So, here's the lo I did for Emma. Still using Christmas celebrations cartridge, paper, sketch, and photos, but changed two of the pics. Scrapping this way just makes my life so much easier and much less stressful! I still take some photos and scrap them the way I want and put them in no particular order, ala Stacy Julian's Photo Freedom. What's funny is that over the last couple of weeks I have been revisiting high school and college memories. So, as the kids get older I will have a better idea of what I want to journal about and scrap for them (like LAST names, and fun events).

Jake Christmas lo

My sweet husband "had" to make up the last 2 Saturdays- he was working all day one week and was gone the next. So, I got some great scrapping time and finished the kids' Christmas layouts. This is Jake's... I'll show Emma's on another post. Pretty close to the same pics, same papers, and same layout. Jake's got 2 photos specifically for him and Emma's got 2 for her.

I always use the CTMH Cherish book with multi-photo, 2 page spreads. So much better!

This is from a HUGE stack of paper I bought at HL and J's after Christmas paper sale in 2008 (January of 2008... I've been waiting ALL year!).

I used my Christmas celebrations cart, rub-ons I bought and did computer journalling so I could get everything I wanted!

PTI sketch card

This last sketch card from PTI's anniversary countdown was great. I was soooo happy with it! Now, this paper that I wasn't that excited about, I think is awesome! It is CTMH Whimsy (all 3 pp). I did some scoring on the white part of the card for interest. Used my bella baubles for the dots on the side. Paper pierced the sentiment panel. Stamped in versafine black ink.

PTI Color Combo & Mojo 72 Sketch

Papertrey Ink has been celebrating their 2nd anniversary! Last week they offered up their first color combo. I only have 4 of their colors- none of which was in the cc.

So, I improvised!!

I used the same red I used in the kid's Valentine's cards, paper I have used several times (see here), and a CTMH stamp in Sunflower.

I sorta used the Mojo 72 sketch (but eliminated the ribbon and flower on the side).

Valentine's for the kids

Today is the kid's Valentine's party at school. I had to make cards for both kids classes. I really needed it to be cheap!

I used a bunch of red cs that is double sided with a lighter red paisley image on the other side.

I used Okie's lollipop holder.

I cut white squares (2 1/2 inches) and glued them on.

Then, I cut out all the hearts on the same paper. On Emma's I used the paisley side up and on Jake's I kept it as the solid red. I put the names on the white cs.

Finally, I inserted Dum Dum lollipops (little and inexpensive) into all of them.

Ta Da!

Eloise Greengrass- SCS sketch 213

So, this card was done awhile ago, but again, that whole getting pics off the camera thing...

This is Eloise Greengrass with a paper piecing technique. I used the SCS 213 sketch.

First, I ran my PTI Sweet blush panel through the CB- d'vine swirls. Then, I cut some paper I had bought off HSN years ago for the backgroung. Used some olive cs as the accent color.

Then, I stamped Eloise on white cs, olive cs, sweet blush cs, and the pp. I cut out each part that I wanted and paper pieced them together. I colored the rest with my copics and stickles for her wings and shoes.

Finally, I glued some pretty flowers on as the final touch.

Get better Grandpa!

This past weekend Terry went to visit his folks in OK. Last week Friday his dad was scheduled to have a quadruple bypass. While Terry's brothers could be there, Terry had to work mandatory overtime (and we'd just returned from my grandmother's funeral). So, Terry wanted to go back home now that his dad has gotten out of the hospital. (and, Praise God he only needed a triple bypass!!).

He asked for a card to give his Dad, but so the kids could color pictures inside (best of both worlds, right?).

I used our latest stamper's blog challenge for the inspiration (although, I am not entering the card in the contest since I couldn't send it to the winner). Funny thing, though... are those black buttons. They are PINK!! I glued black paper on them, dried, poked the holes through, then sanded the sides. But, in the close-up you can still see some pink! oops!
