Grandpa's Helper LO

Another LO (layout- as in scrapbook layout... I've been asked about that a couple of times recently) I did at the craft day recently was about a visit with my dad (Grandpa) and Jake helping him rebuild a fence for his garden. Jake had a blast (and maybe my dad did too?), getting to saw the wood himself, watch Grandpa drill, and then get it positioned up on to the fence.

I used all CTMH paper, Base Camp for the font, and the Cherish book helped with the layout of the pics.

Enjoy!

Grillin' up some dad's day wishes

This was the card I made for Terry's dad's day. It's Studio G stamps from last year, that I used my blender pen and ink pad to add a little color. The paper is a combo of PTI chocolate remix and CTMH. That green "circle" was on CTMH paper, I just cut it out and stamped the enjoy right in the middle and it was done! I double matted the image on DCWV textured cs (it matched the pp- love that!).

Enjoy!

This is my dad's Father's day card. I did hand draw the image- not stamp it. (so, please be kind!). The paper is CTMH.

Happy Father's Day!

Can you believe today is Father's Day?? Wasn't Mom's Day just a couple of weeks ago?

Wow!

Here's my card for my wonderful DH! It's Grillafella that is paper pieced (I am about to give up on copic markers!), and CTMH paper- love this guy paper!! This was an SCS sketch from April or May. PTI chocolate cs for the base.

Kids colored on the inside :-)...

Enjoy!

Birthday Girl- all your dreams...

This is for a special birthday girl's party today! We are really looking forward to it and can't believe another year has passed! How does the time fly??

This is CTMH Whimsy paper with Cricut Cinderella from a cartridge I borrowed (so I don't know which one she is actually on!). I thought the pp was super cute with a disney princess!

Enjoy!

Jake's Easter LO

Here's Jake's Easter LO!! Can you see how different and yet the same this is from Emma's Easter LO?? I really love doing this!! I used only ONE sheet of printed paper, and TWO sheets of cs!! Pretty tricky, huh!?! It's all in how you cut the paper, and what you do to make it look like you have more paper than you actually do.

I used the same stamp set w/ the eggs, but my cricut cut title is different, and no flowers either :-).

Enjoy!

Emma's Easter LO... FINALLY used CTMH Paper Garden!!

Another LO I completed at our craft day was Emma's Easter LO. I love using the CTMH book Cherish for multi-photo, 2 page spreads! It really helps!!

Now to the paper. I am a paper addict. Are you? If so, you know how the disease works. You see paper. You buy paper. You NEVER use the paper!

I bought this paper literally the second it was available. This is the FIRST time I have used it!! (and it was still hard to get into it!)... terrible disease. :-)

I also used my CTMH Easter stamp set I bought last year and borrowed another stamp set for the other flowers I stamped and cut out. The flowers up by the title are from a stash of CTMH Big & Little Blooms.

Check back in a couple of days and you'll see my favorite thing to do for events! (hint: jake's easter LO- similar photos, same LO, WAY different paper... HOW will it look??)

Enjoy!

Sympathy card

So, I apparently have sold my first card! And, I didn't even realize I would, lol!

A friend called/emailed and asked for a sympathy card. I had one, but I think she was looking for something a little different. My schedule was a bit tight and I didn't know if I could get one made, but I actually DREAMED this card...

crazy huh?? I used PTI, cricut cartridge Jasmine, cuttlebug folder, satin ribbon, and was totally done in 20 minutes!

Yea, crazy! Now, if only I could dream ALL my cards!!

Enjoy!

New Things...

Last month a couple in our church was called to go to another church. He was to be the music minister. We were all excited for them, but of course, sad for us.

I wanted to make a simple card for them (and then forgot it at home, so had to mail it!)... never fails.

This is mostly CTMH paper- called Emporium (*thanks Melissa!!*), with a Verve butterfly I paper pieced. I kept trying to make this fit a sketch, but never could. It's a smaller size (b/c of how I kept changing things), so it's a narrow rectangle. I used cocoa cs that I ran through the cuttlebug (but I don't think you could even tell once I put all the pp on it!)...

What do you think??

Enjoy!

Focus on Jake LO

At the craft day recently, I had one layout I swore to myself I would complete. Jake has long deserved what I call "focus" pages in our family album. Since I scrap in a Stacy Julian way, I have scrapbooks that are chronological and event-focused for the kids (helps to satisfy that Type A inside of me), but the artist in me? The one that sees all the hundreds of photos that don't "go" with a layout, but scream at me to tell a story?? THAT's the "BIG PICTURE" in my scrapbooking!

So, anyway here it is. It is some leftover paper from a StoryTellers Club paper from a GASC class from '08, blue cs, and lots of inking and some distressing. The pics were random but totally show off his personality- the crazy, playful 5yo boy, the boy who totally "gets" life as he was watching his dad play flag football on a camping trip, and this bottom pic is my favorite. That is my son... all intelligence with a beautiful smile!

Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary!

So, this is my FAVORITE anniversary to celebrate every year- it's the one I celebrate with my dear, sweet husband! Today marks 12 years since I walked down the aisle and looked into his clear, blue eyes and said, "Yes, I, do."... forever. When we married we did not sign a contract, but a covenant between ourselves and God.

I love Terry more than most people can ever comprehend- even those who believe they know me well, more than those who think they know me best. I would say only the smallest of the smallest core has a clue how truly much I love this man and why. They know how special he is to me and to our little family. He is steadfast, a true man of God. One to be honored and respected. And, I do. I could write a large novel, so thick the pages would be difficult to turn of what he has meant and done and stood for in his own life (when no one was looking), for me (when he thought I didn't know), for his children, and for his friends (even when it was so very difficult)... and he would do it again.

I hope that the rest of our marriage continues to be as amazing as the first 12, and with Terry walking this adventure of life with me... how could it not?

(the card? it's nice... )

Enjoy!

Anniversary Card- Love

Yesterday was our best friends' anniversary... I am hoping they have received the card (but know they are busy and she doesn't normally come here unless I specifically tell her too, lol!). I love celebrating their anniversary, because that sweet, dear friendship that goes so deep now... well, it is hard for even me to express in writing here on my blog (and I usually do NOT have a problem expressing myself- ha!). We've known them almost our entire marriage. Can't imagine what our lives would have been like without their friendship!

I used DCWV Glitter Stack from a year or two ago, with my fave- PTI cs (Chocolate). I paired it with a scalloped circle (love that cricut and cut files- not sure if it was from Okie or Capadia- I made this over a month ago!- but I'll give them both credit), and the big daisy stamp image from CTMH. The sketch is SCS from 6 to 8 weeks ago and I used it recently on another anniversary card too! Just to show how different a look one sketch can really give you!

I really hope they had a wonderful anniversary- can't believe we've all been married more than a couple of years now. Time flies! Our anniversary is Sunday so look for my card to Terry... 12 years for us! Wow!

Enjoy!

Feel Better Soon!

Made this card for a sweet friend who was put on bedrest a few weeks ago. At 32 weeks pregnant, she was NOT ready to have her baby girl!! She's finally been released from bedrest (and even came to the craft day with us), and I just heard this morning that she might be having her baby! (but now it's okay :-)...
Enjoy!
