SS Activity Card

One week for our Secret Sister we had to make a card showcasing a fave activity... our family loves to camp! I had to make it a "girly" card ;-)... so the tent is PINK and I lined the envie with the same paper (from an old 6x6 M&M pp stack I got 2 or 3 years ago) I used on the card. I used my watercolor pencils (b/c I am seriously considering SELLING my copics (if anyone out there wants to buy them!) on my studio G stamps.

All in all I thought this was a super cute card!

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas Nettie!

My best friend and her family (the hubbies are best friends as well), arrived on Monday to spend the week with us. We haven't seen them since December of last year. They have already left, and I'm ready to plan the next visit. Our kids all have a blast together and play so well that we can go quite a long time just talking and hanging out before anyone needs "Mom"...

I really hadn't planned to get anything for her, but the day before their arrival, I sat down and started quickly working on a project I saw on the scor-pal website. Even without a scor-pal you can do some of their projects.

This is a card caddy. I used Hot off the Press double sided cs I got off of HSN when I was on maternity leave 2 years ago. I still have so much left... I am so not hoarding anymore!!

I used my Doodlecharms cricut cart for the flower, CTMH garden green brads, and some "scrapbooking floss" I got at an LSS in Colleyville about 18 mos ago... that I have never touched! Again, no hoarding!

Inside I made her a few monogramed note cards that she can give to her college students, or girls in her bible studies. I made 2 different coordinating envelopes (since the cards were larger than normal). One of the envies had the pattern on the inside and 1 had the pattern on the outside.
Overall this was super easy and I was completely done within an hour and a half. Gotta love naptime!
Enjoy!

How'd you do that??

How'd I do that???

Thought I'd show some pics of the cards yesterday for how I put them together. First, I used the cricut to cut out scallop circles and regular circles. I found 1 stamp I liked and stamped in a matching color. Then, I did the sentiments (Thinking of You, Happy Birthday, etc) and embossed them. Glued the circle to the scallop. Next, the fun part...

I used pop dots (adhesive) on the back of the scallop to the notecard (NOT the color coordinating backing that matched the scallop).

Finally, I got a pp (printed paper) strip that matched the solid color and made a "band" out of it (just remember, the notecard slides OUT from it, so tape it together on the back and then to the "backing" card only).

So, I did that 6 times (actually 12- since there are 2 teachers!). Then, I got a coordinating stamp for the INSIDE of the card (on the bottom left)- like "here's a hug" got a cute bird hugging himself on the inside, but the "thinking of you" got a simple flourish.

Last, but NEVER least... I stamped that same image (or a good matching one) to the OUTSIDE lower left corner of the matching envelope.
I plan on tying them up in cute ribbon with 2 tags- one from me and one from Jake or Emma.
Enjoy!
