My Top 10 Cards of 2010

Here are the details. Enjoy! (SECOND post for today... please SCROLL down to see the other!)

These are my favorite of 2010 (in no particular order... bc that is WAY TOO HARD, :)!)

Who... me?

This morning, one of my "blogging sisters" Stephanie M. sent me a note to say that she was awarding my blog with this sweet award. She had some sweet things to say as well.

I am to link back to her (done!).

List 8 things about myself:

1. I have been crafting in some form or fashion since at least junior high (I have found my old scrapbooks and other things in old boxes over the last few years... very funny!).
2. I have owned my own private practice now for 2 1/2 years with a very close friend who also crafts. We tend to "feed" off of each other, although I think I enable her more than I should!
3. I have the very BEST husband in the world... truly.
4. I got the crazy idea late this year to learn how to sew. Even got a "home-ec" lesson on sewing from my best friend in Indiana. And, after one *teeny tiny* lesson she then had my hem one of her daughter's very cute capri pant legs!! So scary!
5. I have been stamping for 3 years... but found PTI strictly for the matching paper, inks, and ribbon initially.
6. Bought my first stamp set earlier this year... and shouldn't have... because now I want many many more :-).
7. Finally, after 3 years I have learned (or almost learned) what my stamping style is... so now I am in a desperate search to sell my CTMH and other stamp sets that do not fit that style.
8. I *love* my Cricut and Cuttlebug!

Whew. That was hard!

Okay, 3 blogs that should receive this same award...

Danielle at Au Claire de Lune
*First, this girl LOVES her cricut like I do!
*Second, this girl can enable me (and that is actually HARD to do!

Rose at Something You Occasions
*First, I just love things she does and want to CASE them!
*Second, the girl had a baby in Nov and kept on crafting! (that is a girl after my own heart!)

Cathleen at Crooked Card Creations
*well, once you see her site there won't be much else I need to say!

Check out these fab blogs!

Enjoy!

Christmas Gifts 1

(TWO POSTS TODAY... scroll down!)

For Christmas this year several special women in my life received a hand crafted calendar for next year. These were truly a labor of love! Each was unique and I took special care to choose a "theme" or color scheme that they would appreciate and enjoy all year long. Then, each calendar fit into a CD case that would convert into an easel that would help them to display it on their desks at work or home!

(All supplies were PTI, unless noted otherwise; INCLUDING the basic idea and stamp set)

The top: Each was polka dots in versa mark ink. The front color shows the color scheme for the year. This was a true birthday/anniversary calendar.

Second: Three color scheme using my all time favorite tree from PTI, embossed no less (before I discovered PTI embossing powder!) in white. Only time I used the image to border the calendar. This one was ALL MINE!

Another post to follow!

Enjoy!

Christmas gifts 2

Read my ABOVE post about where these CD calendar hand crafted gifts came from.
These are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th (and last) that I made.

Third: Basic Grey printed paper color scheme randomly pink and burgandy. The flower though would alternate between Sweet Blush and Scarlet Jewel and would move to different places around the mini-calendar so there wasn't too much bulk in one place. I also inked all the pages with Tye Die Duo.

Four: My favorite of all of them. Versamark damask (not PTI) on a three color scheme that alternated. Then, mini-damask Ranger Antique Linen in the center of each mini calendar. Perfect!!

Five: The last was kind of a "month specific" calendar. Each month had a printed paper specific to that month with a die cut image that matched. The July month, shown here, makes that easy to understand. (Not PTI paper or dies and I have had that paper now for about 8 years! I have only used bits and pieces of it... so glad that I finally used a good bit of it for a great reason!)

Enjoy!

Halloween Treats

This is my OWN version of PTI's TT: Halloween. I used the TT:Valentine large frame with SU Orange ink on white cs. Matted it on PTI Orange Zest cs. Then, with a CTMH Holiday stamp set (with only 3 Halloween images) and an old SU stamp set that was given to me with some sayings on it (the CTMH stamp set had a couple too), I stamped all this out in black ink. I used bags from HL and stuffed with candy for kids in my daughter's class. She and I had a GREAT time doing this.

Enjoy!

Kristin

p.s. all the circles and mats were cut on the cricut of course!!

Retirement Congrats!

Quick post... This was for my close friend's mom who retired in October. She is such a neat lady and I LOVE that she and her daughter (and now her grandaughter- who I love dearly and have gotten to watch her grow up) are all SO alike!! I am blessed to have them in my life for sure. This was an almost CASED card of Nichole Heady from PTI. I used Soft Stone and True Black cs and Smokey Shadow ink. CTMH flower stamp set, handcut the circle centers and used glossy accents. SU! sentiment stamp set with a CTMH flower rhinestone. I did cuttlebug the black cs too.

Enjoy!

Mix 'n Match

I combined some of my fave PTI sets with some great Pink Paislee paper (Cupid Collection). Base card is Sweet Blush cs and the scallop is Spring Rain cs both from PTI. I used Wreath for all Seasons and Tiny Treats: Valentine stamp sets. This made such a cute little birthday card for one of Emma's friends!!

Enjoy!

Do we know how to party???

My daughter turned 4 in early October. She LOVES Tink (hence the card made with Tink cricut cart & PTI supplies), but she fell in love with Jessie from Toy Story. So, I obliged and made an ALL OUT Jessie party for her and her friends. Yes, everything you will see was done by me and my cricut (no border dies available yet... plus, cricut has a cart if I ever am crazy enough to do that again!!). All supplies were PTI cardstock, CTMH cardstock, or scraps I've had forever.

Enjoy!

PTI November Blog Hop

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today is my 2nd time to enter the PTI blog hop!! Here is my entry (Holiday Tags are the theme):

I cut out (what looked like a good tag to me) from the Lacy Labels cricut cart at 3 1/4" out of Rustic Cream cs and punched a hole in it. I took a strip of Pinefeather cs (rounded the edges with a corner rounder) and Pure Poppy Distressed Dots strip (rounded edges) and set aside. I pulled out the Mini Scrapbook Series: Tabs set and PP ink and stamped the top of the tag to give it some definition and added PP Baker's Twine. Adhered the 2 strips one on top of the other. The scallop is pure poppy cs (cricut) at 1 3/4", and 1 1/2" circle. I used Background Basics: Christmas (text) in Antique Linen from Ranger Inks on Stamper's Select cs. The sentiment is from Holiday Spirits Sentiments in PP ink. Finally, (my tag looked lonely) so I pulled out Fine Linen cs and made a Real Dial size 1" ticket with the cricut and stamped the lines and To/From from Just the Ticket in Versamark.

Pull out ALL your goodies girls (and Ted, and dad)... you never know how they can be used for fun!!

enjoy!

Kristin
